Taking into consideration the audience research and the types of newspapers, it is important that my local newspaper should include features of newspapers that my target audience can relate to as this will attract them more.
This could refer to the encoding and decoding model by Stuart Hall who states that the media text is encoded by the producer, and decoded by the reader creating a difference in readings of the same code. However, by using recognised codes and conventions the audience will be familiar with the texts which therefore creates a preferred reading.
When creating my main and ancillary tasks, I can use this theory as an influence of my media language as my audience research stated that they preferred to read tabloids more, which meant that they would accept the media language presented in this type of newspaper. My target audience will therefore be attracted to my newspaper if it used the same media language as a tabloid newspaper. This will make my newspaper in the end a preferred reading as the audience will be ale to accept the media language.
So when creating my final main products; the newspaper front page and the second page, I will make it similar to the media language and conventions of tabloids making it relatable to my audience.
